This 32-hour course provides the foundation for developing competent and efficient specifications and procedures to validate glovebox containment through leak testing. Course emphasis includes leak testing methodologies, design considerations, needed measurement equipment and accuracy, test fixturing designs, design details that most significantly impact on the test reliability (e.g., common window seal, appurtenance, feedthrough designs). This course will review several examples of governing specification requirements from national laboratories, AGS, and ASTM standards. In addition, this course allows students to witness and participate in several leak testing demonstrations with large mock-ups here in the Orlando office including three large gloveboxes, control board, box welds and manifold props. Students will leave with knowledge of the most practical ways to specify leak testing instructions to provide reliable, efficient leak testing of gloveboxes. Price per student: $3,900

Expected Audience:
1. Glovebox Design Engineers at fabricators, installation at laboratories, and in-service inspections
2. Field Service Engineers at installation facilities and involved with in-service inspections
3. National laboratory supplier quality representatives

Prerequisites (preferred):
1. Nondestructive Testing understanding (material processing, visual inspection, welds)
2. Familiarity with gloveboxes (understanding features and functionality)
3. Basics of pressure change and helium mass spectrometer detector probe (or sniffer) testing

LTS will charge all credit cards at the time of registration. Student cancellations will be offered a credit for a future class with available seats.
